Adobe CS 2 On 20”³ iMac Intel Core Duo

 [USTommyMC] I never really thought about installing Adobe CS 2 on my iMac because I knew it would run slow and so far FireFox is the only non-native program that I’m running. Someone asked me about running Photoshop and a few other programs on the iMac so I’ve decided to install the entire Adobe CS 2 and post about it.

Layer Groups? Smashing Idea!

 [Adobe Blogs] If document with Layer Groups (LG) is opened in InDesign (ID) without this plug-in, all grouped layers are displayed as regular layers, correctly ordered. When such document is opened again in ID with LG, all is correctly grouped again (grouping data are persistent), if there are any changes in ordering, or there are new/deleted layers, it's reflected in the tree structure.

Creative Suite 3 and the Intel Macs

 [CreativeGuy] CreativeSuite 3 will come no sooner than the second quarter of 2007. This is probably as reliable a source as you can get, as it’s posted on an Adobe blog. Normally I would be somewhat upset at the news that it’s going to take longer than expected, but given that Apple probably won’t have newer PowerMacs with the Intel chip until later this year anyway, there’s really no rush.

Side-Switching

 [The Tao of Mac - HomePage] Update: Yes, this is an April Fools, but one with a point: Apple has, in fact, shown little ability to keep the UNIX side of its OS up-to-date or to polish the technical aspects of its iLife suite to where I (for one) would feel completely comfortable with it. Eye candy isn't everything and the Mac OS X environment, despite its friendliness, could do with a bit more attention where it regards to, say, mobile phone support, bug fixing and standards compliance.
