John Nack on Adobe: Extending Photoshop via SWF Panels: Tutorials

[Untitled] In order to communicate to the host application (Photoshop or Illustrator CS4) using the CSXSLibrary SWC, our code is sent as a string message via BridgeTalk, which will then be evaluated once it reaches the host application. Not a big deal if we’re only sending a few lines of code at max, but when our ExtendScript code is lengthy, we would either have to manually wrap each line of code up as a string or use the work-around process we will use in this tutorial to simplify our life.

[kuwamoto.org] Now, as it turns out, I turned on color management in Firefox (because I don’t want photographs to look oversaturated on my wide gamut monitor) but the price of that you can get into some weird territory. For example, as I look at the screenshot I took above of those OS X windows from within Firefox, so the color management transforms are being applied AGAIN even though the screenshot has already had them applied, leading to weird colors

Hidden Power Support - - Elements Color Management Settings ...

[RetouchPRO] I'd like to make sure that I understand how Elements handles files that are already tagged with an icc color space that is not sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998). THe 'Help' section of Elements sounds as if the program will convert to either sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998) even if another space is tagged.

[Adobe Blogs] A placed image in InDesign that uses an alpha channel does not automatically require lossless compression when exported to SWF as it does for XFL Export. Flash Player supports the notion of JPEG + alpha, in which the color pixels are JPEG compressed and the alpha channel is stored as a separate, Flate compressed block.

John Nack on Adobe: Notes from Adobe installer management

[Adobe Blogs] In CS4 we focused on making the installer robust so that even though it was long and sometimes painful to install the Creative Suite, the install most often succeeded.
