[Abdul Qabiz's Blog - India] Adobe Flash Builder as name - What I think « Abdul Qabiz's Blog ...: A lot of people were confused and didn’t really think that even though there were different development paradigm but all targeted to Flash Runtime(s). I have been using the term for sometime, even before Adobe redefined it to bring all these different technologies/tools, which targeted Flash Runtimes (Player, AIR, FlashLite), under it.

[flexgeek] flexgeek » Blog Archive » Announcing Adobe Flash Platform Tools ...: I am sure you have all been hearing about the new super-cool tools that Adobe has been building. We will preview many of these new innovations - Adobe Flash Builder (formerly known as Flex Builder), Adobe Flash Catalyst, upcoming versions of LiveCycle and BlazeDS at the “

[The Flash Blog] The Flash Blog » Flash Builder rebrand FAQ: In fact, Adobe and Macromedia both did an admirable job of pointing this separation out at length when promoting Flex to the enterprise development community. I can only imagine that the companies chose to do this because of the Flash IDE’s image in the developer community as a tool for making animations and non-enterprise apps - a perception which frankly still holds true for Flash developers not using the Flex toolset.

[Taylor Bastien - Crossing the RIA Grande] Quick Question for Adobe: What Logo Will "Flash Builder" Use ...: Inquiring (make that "trivial") minds want to know: What logo willAdobe now associate with the re-branded, better than ever, sliced breadtasty "Flash Builder"?

[Danny Patterson] Danny Patterson » Adobe's Flex Builder rebranded as Flash Builder: flex is a great framework, and adds some much needed rigour to RIA development for flash, but its about time that flex developers truly accept that they’re flash platform developers just like the rest of us, and come into the fold :)

[Flex 'n AIR] From the Adobe Press - Flex Builder to become known as “Flash ...: The reason I have argued so adamantly in this regard is a result of constant conversations with corporate executives who refer to Flex and AIR as “unproven technology”.  Flex gained this stigma amongst a large number of businesses as a result of having watched a substantial number of large-scale RIA Flex projects either never make it to full release or make it to release with only 30% of the intended functionality. On top of that, a significant portion of these projects went way over budget and rarely met deadlines.  I’ve spent a lot of time discussing this with people, particularly business decision makers, and I consistently suggest that they not point the finger at Flex, but rather consider the micro-architecture being used, and the people they have making the technical decisions.  Personally, I believe that it is largely a result of Adobe Consulting’s attachment to the Cairngorm Framework, which is unsatisfactory for enterprise development, and I’m not the first person to suggest that (I know, how dare I!)

[Adobe Blogs] Daniel Koestler: ShareFire, Flex, Flash Builder, and more: A lot of my new job involves using Flex 4 when I develop applications, so I'll be able to tell you about the new states syntax, how the skinning architecture will work, and how to soup up an existing application--even if you still need some Flex 3 components. As an aside, I've seen some other blogs and I should warn you that I like to argue...debating the namespace change will be fun for at least one of us.

[Serge Jespers] Next version of Flex Builder will be named Flash Builder 4 ...: I know all of you are really excited about the upcoming releases of Flash Builder and Flash Catalyst and while we haven’t announced any release dates yet, I can tell you that we will be releasing public beta versions of both products this summer. So if you haven’t planned your summer vacation yet, you may want to hold off on that and plan on playing with Flash Catalyst beta and Flash Builder 4 beta during the summer.

[Ribbit Developer Platform] Ribbit Developer Platform - Blog - Adobe changing names in Flash ...: It will now be called Flash Builder. I wanted to continue a personal blog post, where I give my thoughts on the name change, here to discuss with you what it means for Ribbit's .

[Tim Anderson's ITWriting] Tim Anderson's ITWriting - Tech writing blog » Adobe's Flex ...: The Flex framework is still named the Flex Framework and the Flex SDK and Flash Builder will still be used to build Flex framework applications. So renaming the Flex SDK to Flash SDK I don’t think is the way to go.

[The Flash Blog] The Flash Blog » A much needed name change: We have Flash IDE and Flash Builder IDE (looking forward for questions from customers and colleges about what is difference and why Flash Builder IDE has advanced code editor but can’t compile fla-files and Flash IDE can compile them but useless for serious coding?). And we have Flash Catalyst which can use projects imported from Flash Builder IDE but can’t share the same project and can’t edit fla-files.

[FLEX{er}] FLEX{er} » Blog Archive » Flex Builder Rebranded into Flash Builder: Animators and designers are used to the Flash IDE and like its focus on creating completely custom Flash experiences. Flash and Flex developers generally do not like spending their time in the Flash IDE and prefer to be in a powerful code-centric environment like Eclipse.
