foodworms.net[foodworms.net] Much of what’s new in this sixth version of the page-layout program is under the concealment, with new underlying file formats based on the XML standard and programming hooks that over appropriated time should make it easier to exercise inDesign files and functionality in automated publishing environments. But those under-the-hood enhancements won’t do anything for today’s designers, so they’re not reasons to get excited in each opposite direction the repaired version.

Copies&Ink[Copies&Ink] iWork 08 Pages: Pretty Slick: OK, it’s not QuarkXPress or InDesign, but if you need a good basic layout program, I give Apple’s Pages a thumbs up. If it was only the MS Word import capability and the seamless export to PDF, it would be worth the $89 cost.

Providing just enough of a conceptual framework to use the program effectively, but omitting the tech-heavy under-the-hood discussions .
