Idea! Undo/Redo tree in GIMP
[Cube's Weblog] There is something I really miss in GIMP, but you can very rarely find any other program that supports that, not only when it comes to raster image editing. Remember all those situations where you edit an image, then undo a lot of times to see how it looked before, and now want to change something different.

Simple Image Editing
[Mikazo Tech Blog] I've been trying to find a simple image editing program that runs on Ubuntu just to make simple pixel images. GIMP seems a little too complicated for that sort of thing so I've come across a few alternatives.

10 things a web designer can’t do without
[Help Developer - CSS, Dreamweaver, Gimp, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, VB.NET, Visual Studio, Wordpress Tutorials] Personally I favour Gimp because its fast, reliable, updated regularly, free and easy to use and doesn’t compromise on features when it comes to web design. The worthy alternative to this is the slow, expensive Photoshop (oh did I say worthy, I meant unworthy, yeah I don’t like it, although a lot of other designers do.)

Open-source Photoshop
[Strategize] Unless you are an advanced user of Photoshop, there's no reason not to consider GIMP for your photo and image manipulation needs. Sure, it's not quite as robust as the Adobe product, but it is free.
