[I tell it like it is.] I went to an incredible concert -- and you didn't.: Well, now is probably as good a time as any to explain why my pictures suck ass: I used a disposable camera instead of my digital camera (for the purpose of convenience and 800-speed film) to take these pictures. Two problems arose with this decision: (A) I couldn't zoom in at all, so the pictures make it look like I was farther away than I really was; and (B) the flash went off for every fucking picture, even when I didn't charge it, so they're all darker than hell. My apologies. Lesson learned.

[Jason Rodriguez - The Moose in the Closet] Doodlebrain, Jason Sho Green and Becoming Moose: Back at the beginnings of this year-long experiment I talked briefly about the day I adopted my current namesake, The Moose in the Closet. As I mentioned, The Moose was born in the summer of ’96 at a barbeque to celebrate the end of high school and the last summer all of my friends will spend together.

This is a privacy feature built into the Flash player by Macromedia, the company that produces the Flash player and authoring tool. The purpose is to let you know that a Flash application is trying to access a camera or microphone that may be connected to your computer. This is a demonstration of the current interactive capabilities of the audio/video object that comes pre-built in the new Flash 6 player. If the user has not ever set the access settings for the specific Flash file or web site, they will be prompted on load of the file to either give access to their camera or not. I recommend warning the user way ahead of time that their camera will be accessed. Now you can attach the accessed camera to a Movie Clip in your Flash movie and then animate and adjust the movie clip via Actionscript.

[Schleifstein.net] Schleifstein.net - digital media art blog: While attending UNO for my senior semester as an art major I was required to an Artist’s Statement describing my influences and artistic ideas. Artist’s normally write Statements to introduce themselves to people attending a gallery opening, but I wrote mine to try to impress a small group of professors, who taught all types of art in all types of media, and to introduce them to the idea of web based media and Macromedia Flash being used to create art. Read the full Artist’s Statement after the jump. (more…)
