[Your Daily Pirlot] Answers to the Quiz Questions: First a squash color; then a light lemon yellow; then a blah cream to counteract the hypernating (I made that word up) effects of the yellow; then a scone-y tan color on the lower 3/4 of the walls with a cream on top; then my current color - a deeper cream with a greenish cast (specifically Dunmore Cream by Benjamin Moore). Of course, there's one more color I'd like to try: Blonde by Sherwin-Williams. It's a deeper, muted gold - a little more punch than what I've got right now.
[Putting Up The For Sale Sign] Paint Day!: About 7:45 I called the painter to see when he’d be here. He said he was dropping off a crew out by the airport (an hour or more away from me) and he’d be at our house in about an hour or an hour and a half. Okay, that’s fine, that would put him at our house at about 9:00.

As we were checking out, the cashier said “oh are these for all the baby pictures you will be taking?” My Sweetie gets this astonished face and asks, “How do you know?” I giggle and point to my belly and explain that I come with a sign at this point. He begins to laugh. As I have said before, my Sweetie’s laugh is the most wonderful sound.
[Defying Gravity] A Woman in a Hardware Store...: When I go into Lowe's or a similar store, I know what I want. Tonight, I needed bookshelves and a quart (or less) of high-gloss enamel paint in a deep red color that matched my kitchen chairs. Since I needed a high-gloss paint, I was hesitant to just look at all the colors without knowing what brand I needed to constrain my search to (thinking they might only have a high-gloss enamel in, say, Olympic and not Behr). I had the following conversation with Paint Mixer Guy (PMG):
[You know, for kids.] careful what you wish for: This isn’t one of them. Not even close, and it’s not helped any by the trim still being a slightly pinkish color and the fixtures being a weird shade of brown that seems to contain both pink and yellow. The trim I can take care of. The sink and toilet can be replaced in a weekend along with the floor and baseboards.
[Alyssaboehm.com] Big Red Blog: I did get Deeps on board with some colors for the first floor and the third floor – I think. He was really pushing for green downstairs – so we found nice greens. I wanted something more watery blue for the bedroom since that should be calming and relaxing.
