[Earthbound Light Photography Tips] Color Management can be an endless source of frustration for some. The temptation to give up on the whole thing can be a strong one, but for those willing to persevere, most will eventually have their "aha!"

[Roger Ebert's Journal] Roger Ebert's Journal: Political Archives: If you lived hundreds of years ago (or more) and believed in a [G/g]od of some type, with messengers that had superhuman characteristics as well as forms that were not necessarily human in likeness, you may very well describe what you saw at the end of the movie as angels. If you lived today and had been influenced by pop culture's representations of aliens and UFOs, then you may well interpret the Strangers as aliens.
[Sidepodcast : All for F1, and F1 for All] Daily: 7th April 2009 | Sidepodcast : All for F1, and F1 for All: In the ten years Ive done this, Ive had stories I worked long hours on and put my heart into thrown into the garbage, people yelling at me because their point of view wasnt covered because my editor lobed off that paragraph, people who have slammed doors in my face when I come to interview them because they didnt like what I wrote the last time we talked, and Ive even gotten into a yelling match with my editor over photo selection and was angry to the point of throwing my Nikon FM2 across the room at him. The lesson Ive learned is that you are a cog in the transmission of information dissemination, not the driver of it.
[Whatanews4u.Sports] BBC - The Editors: Changes to international pages: Yet despite this, and despite the infatuation with links to weird reddits and nowpublics at the bottom of the page, despite entire articles that suggest that the BBC website is actually now just an elaborate viral advert for Twitter, despite the accelerated devolution of the BBC and its website from a respected British icon to a purveyor of tragically irrelevant Londoncentric spaff about what it's like to be on "The Apprentice" or pointless silent mobile phone videos of Boris Johnson tripping over or entire theses on how wonderfully techoliterate Stephen Fry is, it was still worth persevering through. However, today's sudden switch from "still-a-pretty-good-website" to "website-that-requires-labyrinthine-searches-and-multiple-saved-favourites-to-get-to-what-used-to-be-a-click-away" is shocking, pathetic, and frankly depressing.
[O'Reilly News] Why I Support Barack Obama - O'Reilly Radar: Any connected, transparent government in the future will need to implement a technological solution that is accessible to all - Obama has already proved this capability through his campaign - as a New Media and Internet Enterpreneur I have been positively surprised to see such an effective Internet campaign from a Presidential Candidate - town hall meetings on Facebook, iPhone apps that allow you precise targeting, LinkedIn questions to the public at large - yes, there are some things they could improve but they have created an efficient system that could be used as a case study for following how Government could leverage New Media/Internet to increase efficiency, productivity and so forth. mcCain may demonstrate the need for open Government but can he execute on his promise?
[Making Light] Making Light: Open thread 91: So far, I only managed to relocat my own blog posts up through March of 2005 before bogging down again: Copying over giant chunks of HTML from the old site, combing through them to make the internal links consistent, tagging them, and re-posting them under the correct old date and time stamps on the new site is the exact type of careful, detail-oriented work that my brain is just plain unwilling and incapable of doing in significant doses these years. I've almost decided to go ahead and start posting new stuff when the fancy strikes without waiting to move the archives over;
[joe-ks.com: New joe-ks] Daffynition(s): An elaborate prelude to mating that fulfills much the same function as the sniffing ritual in dogs, but without its forthright honesty; The process of spending enormous amounts of money, time and energy to get better acquainted with a person whom you don't especially like in the present and will learn to like a lot less in the future.
[ScienceBlogs : News] Titanoboa! : Pharyngula: If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods and on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of Holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books.

[RINF Alternative News Media: Daily Breaking News] A Cynic's Guide To 9/11 Conspiracy Theories: Mangled steel and concrete, plastics from office furniture and equipment, fuels from elevator hydraulics, cars and other sources are all in great supply in the six-story basement area where the two towers collapsed.”…“Water alone rarely can quench this kind of fire, which will burn as long as there is adequate fuel and oxygen and as long as heat cannot escape, fire experts said.”…Even the NIST weighed in on the “Molten steel” question: “NIST investigators and experts from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEONY)”who inspected the WTC steel at the WTC site and the salvage yards”found no evidence that would support the melting of steel in a jet-fuel ignited fire in the towers prior to collapse. Under certain circumstances it is conceivable for some of the steel in the wreckage to have melted after the buildings collapsed.
