PS: Picking up stray pixels

[CreativeGuy - Graphic Design Software Tips, Tricks and Commentary] When you’re editing your images in Photoshop, and you’re trying to make a selection using the Magic Wand Tool, you may find that the tool leaves behind a few stray pixels. The easiest way to pick them up is with you selection made, choose Select>Modify>Smooth from the menu bar. Technorati Tags: Adobe, Photoshop Tags: Photoshop...

djchuang.com[djchuang.com] cramming meetups, cars, and scheds: It’s not exactly what you’d call a vacation, but that’s what this week is counting against me on my timesheet. I’m living on borrowed time here, without a reliable Internet connection, and hopping from WiFi spot here and there, or on this post, borrowing a stray WiFi signal from a neighbor. So that’s partly why there isn’t more blogging going on, even though I do have more time on my hands, sorta.

Engadget.com[Engadget.com] RFID tags to keep Japanese kids in line - Engadget - www.engadget.com: The idea of checking them in and out via readers at the school gates is old hat by now, but one school in Wakayama prefecture has teamed up with Japan’s telecommunications ministry to go a step further: they’re planning to fit tag readers to “dangerous locations” around town. Should pupils stray into range of the reader, the school and parents will get pinged by email. This all seems a trifle excessive, particularly if it means a future in which everyone’s grown up acclimatised to being chipped and tracked; but given that Japanese schools already take an abnomally close interest in their pupils’ conduct both on and off campus, it’s hardly surprising.

Some people will undoubtedly say that red-eye correction is bloat since anyone with half a talent can do it blindfolded, but if it saves even a couple of seconds it's worth it.
