[rawtherapee.com] but Gimp doesn't handle higher bit depths than 8 bits per channel per pixel, and I read that using wide color spaces at such a low bit depth leads to posterization when converting to sRGB. I don't know if what I read was correct or if I remembered it correctly - seems to me that if I don't do any global image edits like curves or levels then there shouldn't be any posterization (I use gimp only for removing unwanted objects and reprojecting images without editing the colors).
