[clagnut - stick around why don't you] So if you want to code an unusual character into your HTML, such as a proper ligature like ‘fi’, you can use Unicode Font Info to find the entity (by checking a huge font such as Lucida Grande) and then see what other fonts support it; something I’m finding very useful for a little project I’m slowly piecing together.

Others make many good little points that they could fix next time around, but overall I hope we don't focus in on minor quibbles and lose sight of the fact that this is certainly a vast improvement on the previous Text Edit &
[Girtby.net] girtby.net » Blog Archive » Dont use Wingdings: OK so maybe you don’t buy all this XML philosophy about text versus markup, but on a purely practical level, if every XML parser in the world can understand this character encoded as an entity (ie ), then that should be the way to go, right?
