[Dreampod - Creative Media Evolved] Adobe Flash CS4: Hot or Not?: A tool color-coded for the X,Y, and Z axis let you manipulate objects along those planes letting you do some 3d animation without too much of a hassle. Not sure how high resolution texture will impact flash performance, but there’s no telling what can be done with online games.
[Print] Create "Star Wars" Scrolling Text in Flash | CreativePro.com: 3D movie clips in Flash Professional CS4 also have Vanishing Point settings, found with the Perspective Angle setting, and will recede in depth toward the Vanishing Point coordinates. If your guides are long enough to visually intersect at the vanishing point, you can use the intersection coordinates for your Vanishing Point settings and precisely control the vanishing point's position.
[The Flash Blog] The Flash Blog » Got a complaint about Flash CS4?: (I do have win XPx64(which isn’t helping the situation)) File importing kills it, adding blurs to fairly small images kills it, and for some reason on both copies of CS4 the alpha slider only goes up to 99% cant get it to nudge over too 100% (has anyone else found this) Generally I will use AS3 to do stuff like tweened alphas, but for quick and easy transitions…

[Robert Penner on Flash] Robert Penner on Flash: Misconceptions about how Flash CS4 ...: The reflections on whether the new implementation of 3d in CS4 is actually 3d or'just' perspectve skewing seem to paper over the fact that Adobe actually has a resonably serviceable 3d engine in it's stable, in the form of Shockwave 3d (although obviously this has been fairly well neglected over the past few years). Back in 2000 at Siggraph in New Orleans I counted 52 seperate 3d browser plug-in technologies, some of which surely must have made it through the dot com bomb;
[untoldentertainment.com] Flash CS4 3D - Depth Management | untoldentertainment.com: You move PlaneA backwards along the z axis, and it never swaps depths behind PlaneB. It’s as if the two clips are entirely autonomous and exist in their own little 3D worlds.
[CartoonSmart.com Blog] My Flash CS4 review”¦ « CartoonSmart.com Blog: I’m sure the programming block behind doing that had something to do with the same reason you couldn’t switch out a symbol mid-motion tween. But considering IK in Flash is something totally new, and not supported in player versions below Flash 10, then it seems like the development team would have had a clean slate for programming this however they wanted.
[Soulwire] Creating Two Sided 3D DisplayObjects with Front and Back faces ...: The DOF is just done by mapping the z position of the sprite from the world space to a smaller range and applying a BlurFilter to the clip using this parameter. So if the world is 4000 pixels deep, map the clip’s z position from this range (0 - 4000) to a new range (0 - 20 for example) and set it BlurFilter’s x and y props to this new number.
